Iran to Arm West Bank Palestinians for New Eastern Front to 'Efface' Israel
Al Qods commander Gen. Qassem Soleimani, acting on the orders of Iran's supreme leader
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, this week set up a new Iranian command to fight Israel, DEBKAfile
reports exclusively from its military and intelligence sources.
It has been dubbed the Eastern Command of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. The Al Qods
Brigades, which are the external terrorist arm of the Guards, are organized according to
sectors, with commands for Hizbullah, the Palestinians, Syria, Iraq and the Gulf.
Their newest sector is the Eastern Command which, our sources report has been assigned
as its first task to start handing out weapons, including missiles, to any Palestinian
West Bank group willing to receive them. Tehran's object is to transform the West Bank
into a territory hostile to Israel on the model of southern Lebanon which is ruled by the
armed Hizbullah and the Gaza Strip under the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists.
In the first week of August, Tehran published a book of 416 pages written by Ali
Khamenei entitled "Palestine." The cover image was labeled "The flag bearer of Jihad to
liberate Jerusalem." The volume was released to Western sources, who reported that the
most constantly recurring phrases in the text in relation to Israel are "nabudi"
meaning annihilation; imha meaning disappearing or fading out; and "zaval" meaning
Khamenei asserts that Israel must be destroyed because it captured Islam's third most
sacred city and is the foremost ally of "Big Satan" America. The Iranian leader
goes into detail about exactly how Israel should be annihilated not by "classical
wars" or "massacres of the Jews" but by means of a "long period of low-intensity warfare
designed to make life impossible for a majority of Israeli Jews."
When he visited Beirut on August 12, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammed Zavad Zarif said
it was necessary after the nuclear deal, to "confront the challenges of the region, the
most important of which is the Zionist and extremist regime."
Members of the Obama administration wave away these disclosures of Iranian intent as no
more than letting off steam to pacify the hard-line opponents of the nuclear deal -
Secretary of State John Kerry said on July 24: "I also told them that their chants of
Death to American and so forth are neither helpful and they're pretty stupid."
But in Iran, the supreme leader's words are treated as decrees demanding obedience.
Indeed, at the first conference of the new Eastern Command, Gen. Soleimani read out
passages from Khamenei's book and told the officers that they were under orders to carry
those decrees out to the letter.
Attesting to the seriousness of Iran's intent, Jmail Majdalani, PLO executive committee
member and personal representative of Mahmoud Abbas, chairman of the Palestinian Authority
on the West Bank, has arrived in Tehran. He is there to arrange his boss's first visit in
many years to the Iranian capital.
And in a related story, Iran's nuclear deal with world powers will not open the Islamic
Republic to political or economic influence from the United States, and could still be
blocked by either country, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday. "We
blocked this path and will definitely block it in the future. We won't allow American
political, economic or cultural influence in Iran."
Reports: US Hostage Was Raped by IS Leader Before Her Death
By VOA News
New U.S. media reports said that American aid worker Kayla Mueller, killed this year
while in the custody of Islamic State militants, was raped repeatedly by the group's
leader before her death. Media outlets quoted U.S. counterterrorism officials and spoke to
Mueller's parents, who confirmed being told by U.S. officials in June that their daughter
had been raped by Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
ABC News first reported al-Baghdadi's sexual abuse of Mueller and quoted her parents,
Carl and Marsha Mueller, as saying that their daughter had been tortured and was "the
property of al-Baghdadi." ABC also said al-Baghdadi would sexually assault her in the
house of his financial lieutenant, Abu Sayyaf, who was killed earlier this year in a U.S.
commando raid on his compound.
The information about al-Baghdadi's actions came from sources including at least two
Yazidi girls who were also sexually abused in Sayyaf's compound before their escape.
Mueller was captured in August 2013 in Aleppo in northern Syria and held by Islamic
State militants for 18 months. The Islamic State group claims Mueller was killed during a
Jordanian airstrike in February. U.S. officials have called into question the
circumstances of her death.
Shabak Agent's New Book on the Rabin Assassination
Just three months before the 20th anniversary of the nationally traumatic assassination
of then-Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, a new book about the murder has been published
once again opening the painful debate about what really happened in Tel Aviv on the
night of November 4, 1995.
The new book, so far only in Hebrew, is called "Yitzhak." It was written by Dvir Kariv,
the first person to talk with Yigal Amir after his arrest for the murder of Rabin. Kariv
worked for the Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shabak) for 22 years in the curiously - some
would say ominously- named "Intelligence Department for the Protection of the Israeli
Among the questions he raises in his book are: Did the Shabak anticipate the murder?
Was there an intelligence failure? How does a civil servant relate on a personal level to
a national calamity? How did Amir behave under interrogation? What is the Intelligence
Department for the Protection of the Israeli Democracy and what are its challenges?
Kariv relates that he asked Amir, on the night of the murder, if he had been scared. "I
was surprised," Kariv writes, "to hear him say, 'Yes, I was very much afraid.' He was then
silent for a few seconds, and added in a cynical tone, 'I was very much afraid that I
would not succeed!' and he laughed. Who could believe that he would laugh? I said,
'You didn't understand my question. Weren't you afraid to die?' 'It doesn't matter if I
live or die! The only difference is 40 years of study in jail compared to the
difference between success and failure, between a national catastrophe and the salvation
of the Nation of Israel.'"
It will be recalled that Rabin had signed the Oslo Accords with Yasir Arafat two years
earlier, and was proceeding apace with their implementation. The issue caused a tremendous
fissure in Israeli society, between the "peace camp" on the one hand, and those who saw it
as increasing terrorism and bringing about the historic loss of Judea and Samaria.
Rabin himself was said to have been having major second thoughts about the process in
the weeks before his death. Exactly a month before, he addressed the Knesset and listed
these principles from which he would not retreat: No Palestinian state and no return to
the 1949 Armistice lines; A united Jerusalem, including both Ma'ale Adumim and Givat
Ze'ev, as the capital of Israel under Israeli sovereignty; Retention of the Jordan Valley
for security purposes; The establishment of blocs of settlements in Judea and Samaria,
"like the one in Gush Katif" ; and the retention of every single Jewish settlement in
Judea and Samaria during the interim period.
Even before its official publication, the new book already has its opponents. They ask
why it waited 20 years before being published, and intimate that it is simply an official
Shabak version of the events, which may or may not be true. Regarding the assassination
itself, the following questions have been raised:
What exactly happened in the car that took Rabin to the hospital? The ride
took nearly 20 minutes, although it generally takes 2-5 minutes. Why do the
original medical records show that Rabin was killed by a bullet to his chest, when Amir
was widely seen on film to have shot from the back? Why were the medical records later
modified? Who yelled out during the assassination that the bullets were fake, and
why? Eyewitness Miriam Oren was seen on television, just minutes after the
shooting, exclaiming repeatedly that she had seen clearly that Rabin had not been hurt.
Why did she later change her story?
The subtitle of the new book is: "Rabin's Murder: The Story that Has Not Been Told."
Many believe that, in fact, the real untold story of the murder will yet have to wait many
more years, if at all, before seeing the light of day.
Iranian Video Games Simulate Military Strikes on Israel
By Washington Free Beacon
An entity controlled by the Iranian government has released an "anti-Zionist" video
game entitled "Missile Strike," in which players simulate launching Iranian missile
strikes on Israeli cities, according to an official report by the CIA's Open Source Center
obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
The anti-Israel video game was widely released for cell phones by Iran's
state-controlled Fars News Agency, which is closely aligned with the country's military
apparatus. The game was publicly released just three days before the signing of a nuclear
accord with the United States and world powers.
OSC warns that the game is just the latest in a string of violent pieces of propaganda
aimed at spreading the Iranian government's extremist ideology. It also comes on the heels
of several real life war drills with Russian naval forces and the announcement that the
Islamic Republic is gearing up to launch live missile drills, despite international
agreements barring such action.
The anti-Israel game is the "latest in a series of politically inspired Iranian video
games that advance a hard-line narrative," OSC wrote in the brief, which is unclassified
but marked for official use only. "These games appear to be an attempt by the Iranian
regime to spread its political message among Iranian youth."
Fars itself has stated "that the `anti-Zionist' game, titled `Missile Strike,' allows
users to launch Iranian Zelzal, Zolfaqer, or Sijal missiles at large Israeli cities,
including Haifa and Tel Aviv," according to OSC's analysis.
The timing of the game's release is significant. It came as interest in the nuclear
deal was at its height and appears to be an attempt to maximize exposure of the regime's
anti-Israel views among the Iranian youth.
Muslim Preacher Rejects Trump's Idea to Relocate Palestinians to Puerto Rico
By Washington Free Beacon
During a Jerusalem sermon August 7, Sheikh Issam Amira of Hizb Al-Tahrir responded to a parody news site's report that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump put forth a satirical "Trump Solution" that would solve the Arab-Israeli conflict by relocating Palestinians to Puerto Rico. Please see https://youtu.be/3XZslzrfvug
The Mideast Beast, a parody news site, reported on a fake "controversial peace
proposal" by Trump to "give the US island territory of Puerto Rico to the Palestinians as
compensation for surrendering to Israel."
In the Beast's article "Donald Trump: Move the Palestinians to Puerto Rico," the
satirical plan calls for the US to "fund the relocation of all four or so million
Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the Caribbean archipelago, and
offer them `free housing, job training and a lifetime supply of deodorant.'"
Amira responded by devoting a Friday sermon earlier this month to slamming the plan.
MEMRI posted a translated clip of the sermon "The Republican presidential candidate, the
American businessman and billionaire Donald Trump revealed his `Trump Plan' to resolve the
Israeli-Arab conflict," Amira said in the sermon, which was broadcast online.
"He said: `Give the American island of Puerto Rico to the Palestinians, and build them
a replica of the Al-Aqsa Mosque there.' We say to that Trump: Palestine is not the same as
Puerto Rico! And the al-Aqsa Mosque is not a mere building made of stone."
Amira might have been spared the embarrassment if he'd taken a closer look at the
website. The Trump article, festooned with the unlikely byline of one "Boaz Bulbulovitz"
("bulbul" is Hebrew slang for penis), sits alongside articles with headlines such as
"Hizbullah Leader Undergoes Breast Reduction Surgery," "Saudi Government Torn Over Whether
to Let Caitlyn Jenner Drive," and "Tel Aviv Declared Second Holiest Site in
The Mideast Beast's parody mocks Trump's racist comments against Latino immigrants:
"Unlike native Puerto Ricans, however, the so-called `Puertostinians' would not be able to
relocate to the US proper if they don't like their new homeland: `We're overrun by Mexican
criminals as it is.'"
And in one dense paragraph, both Trump's penchant for over-the-top real estate projects
and some Americans' stereotypes of Muslim extremism: "`There's a fortune to be made by
fulfilling people's jihadist sex fantasies on a Disney-scale,' he said, outlining some of
the main attractions of `Trump Gaza': a topless `72 Virgins Casino,' `Safari-style' tours
to mock refugee and jihadist training camps, `Shoot Your Own Rocket' and `Dig Your Own
Tunnel' workshops, `Catch a Zionist' competitions, `Torture a POW' sessions, as well as
underground `Abu Ghraib-themed' BDSM parties. `Let the Puertostinians both preserve and
profit from their native culture,' Trump said."
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is quoted by The Mideast Beast responding
to Trump with "some humor-laced advice: From one old man to another, it's time to age
gracefully all that fake tan, collagen and Viagra are rotting your brain."
