PA Terrorists Resume Rocket Attacks on Southern Israel

In southern Israel, a short-range Qassam rocket fired by Gaza-based Arab terrorists exploded in an open area of the Eshkol Regional Council district. The explosion, which came Monday night at about 9:30 p.m. local time, did not cause any damage or physical injuries.

Arab terrorists are ignoring a warning by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that attacking Israel is counterproductive while he seeks United Nations recognition of the PA as a sovereign nation and full member of the international body.

Netanyahu to Abbas: Let's Talk in New York. Abbas Says OK

By & Ha'aretz

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Monday to meet with him while the two are in New York. "I call on the chairman of the PA to begin direct negotiations in New York that will continue in Jerusalem and Ramallah," Netanyahu said.

"I suggest that Abbas start negotiations for peace instead of wasting time on useless unilateral steps," added the Prime Minister. He said that the PA's unilateral move for statehood is not the way to advance peace, stressing the only way to achieve peace is through direct negotiations.

Abbas told Fox News that he was willing to meet with Netanyahu during their mutual stay in New York. "I will meet any Israeli official any time," said Abbas, though he added that "there is no use if there is nothing tangible."

Earlier, Abbas met UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at the UN headquarters and reaffirmed that he planned to ask this week for a Security Council vote on Palestinian membership despite the certainty of a US veto, his spokesman Nabil Abu Rdaineh said.

Abbas is planning to present his unilateral statehood bid on Friday. He chose a terrorist's mother to represent the effort. Netanyahu is scheduled to arrive in New York on Wednesday where he plans to present Israel's truth to the UN.

Abbas has been pressured by the Quartet to drop his unilateral move and resume negotiations with Israel. He admitted earlier on Monday that he has been facing "huge pressure from the West", but told reporters that while Ramallah had "seriously discussed all proposals" put forward by the Quartet, those proposals did not support the goal of "a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital."

The unilateral statehood bid is not supported by either Hamas or by the Islamic Jihad terror groups. Hamas' Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said on Sunday his group would not back a United Nations membership bid and warned that no Palestinian Authority leader had a mandate to sacrifice "fundamental Palestinian rights." Speaking in Gaza, Haniyeh said the terror group continued to support the establishment of a Palestinian state on any part of "historical Palestine" but would not seek to disrupt the UN bid.

The Islamic Jihad terror group has also said it does not back the statehood bid at the UN. Islamic Jihad Spokesperson Daoud Shihab said that Abbas should spend his efforts on achieving unity with Hamas, which controls Gaza and leaves the Palestinian Authority a split entity.

The Famous State of Palestine

By Giulio Meotti (Commentary)

Global leaders are so busy speaking of how essential it is for a "State of Palestine" to be founded that none of them seems to have noticed that it already exists in practice in the Palestinian Authority. Since the Palestinian Authority was established in 1994, the contours of the "State of Palestine" that they wish have taken form in front of our eyes.

So what will this famous "State of Palestine" be like? It will be a racist state ethnically cleansed of Jews, as the PLO representatives proclaimed the last week. It will be a state led by Holocaust enablers like Hamas or by a Holocaust-denier like Mahmoud Abbas, who in a book downgraded the number of Jewish victims and denied that the gas chambers were used to murder Jews.

In any case, it will be a state committed to the destruction of the nearby Jews' homeland. A state that will banish freedom of conscience for artists, journalists and writers. A state that will drive away Christians from the land, while proclaiming Jesus "the first fedayeen."

A state that will stone to death Arab homosexuals and prostitutes, who are now finding a shelter in Israel. A state that will torture Arab inmates in prisons and that will throw political dissidents from the roofs of public buildings.

A state where the Iranian clergy will preach the Khomeinist ideology. A state that will accept checks and support from the genocidal Muslim Brotherhood in the name of "the caliphate or death", as the Islamists who assassinated Egypt's Anwar Sadat in 1981 decorated their holding cages.

A state where the sharia – the Islamic code – will be the only rule of law. A state that will be put to death human beings simply because guilty of apostasy (conversion to Christianity). A state where the women will be obliged to wear headscarves. A state where "honor killings" will terrorize the female population.

A state that will commemorate terrorists, human bombs and baby killers in public squares, streets and monuments. A state that will not hold democratic elections, but that will be a combination of corruption, dictatorship, Islamic theology and "binladenism."

A state where terror militias will cut fingers of the smokers. A state where public libraries will become the largest global archive of anti-Semitic books. A state that will ban drinking in public buildings. A state where liquor stores will be blown up by terror groups.

A state where men will be banned from women's hair salons. A state where security forces will arrest people for expressing opinions unpopular with the regime, as well as punishing media organizations and journalists for their coverage of such statements.

A state where the ratio of militiamen/men- under-arms to civilians will be higher than in any other country. A state where worshipers in mosques will be gunned down by terrorists.

A state that will encourage a new category of Arab refugees, those who would gladly escape oppressive and murderous Palestinian control. A state where ambulances will be stopped on the way to hospitals and wounded will be shot in cold blood. A state that would be a heavily armed union of rejectionists all dedicated to destroying the shards of Western values.

A state where young couples will not walk hand in hand in the Al Manar Square of Ramallah and where plainclothes officers will halt them in the streets, demanding to see marriage licenses.

A state that will declare war on Judaism, depicting Jewish history in the Middle East as no more than an insignificant, brief sojourn by arrogant colonizers. Who would live in such a state? So why the world is dribbling at the mouth about the creation of a "State of Palestine"?

Is it because Arab state number 23 and Muslim state number 58 will be the perfect tool for the evaporization of the lone Jewish state in the world?

Six miles is the distance between the Israeli city of Afula and the "State of Palestine". Nine miles to the city of Netanya. Eleven miles to reach the skyscrapers of Tel Aviv. Four miles to bomb the Ben Gurion International Airport. Just a mile to the city of Kfar Saba.

Building the small Palestinian caliphate on Israel's shoulders is the first step of throwing the Jews in the sea.

Former FBI Agent: Pollard Tried to Spy for Australia

Altruistic motives or dollars and cents? New reports are suggesting that Jonathan Pollard, the American convicted of spying for Israel, admitted during his FBI interrogation that prior to launching his espionage activities on Israel's behalf, he provided Australia with classified information in hope of becoming a spy for Canberra.

Lydia Jechorek, the FBI agent assigned to the Pollard case, told Newsmax on Monday that after his arrest in 1985, Pollard admitted to her that he had attempted to spy for another "friendly country" before spying for Israel. Jechorek received the proper clearance from the FBI to discuss the case.

While she would not name the country, John L. Martin, who supervised the case as chief of the Justice Department's Counterespionage Division, said that the country in question was Australia.

"After Australia rejected his overtures, Pollard spied for Israel," Martin said. Newsmax theorized that these new revelations may lead many who support the campaign to free Pollard over his "sacrifice" for Israel to question the cause.

The rationale has been that Pollard was only trying to help Israel by providing it with intelligence on its Arab neighbors. The fact that he previously tried the same thing with Australia suggests otherwise.

In addition, Pollard admitted to the Naval Investigative Service, now called the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), that he gave classified documents to South Africa in 1980, Jechorek said. She noted that Pollard admitted to giving classified documents to a country other than Israel when she interviewed him in a Washington DC jail, and later at the federal penitentiary at Lewisburg Pennsylvania.

In the 2006 book "Capturing Jonathan Pollard," Ronald J. Olive, the NIS agent in charge of that case, mentioned the Australian spying effort briefly, but the allegations received little media attention.

Jechorek has never previously spoken publicly about the case. As Jechorek sees it, Pollard was motivated in part by the "thrill of the espionage game. He wanted to be someone important. I think the money was important, but he did it not so much for the pay as it helped him live the life that he wanted to live."

In recent months, an increasing number of Israeli and US officials have been calling on President Barack Obama to release Pollard, who has been imprisoned in the US for over 25 years.

1,000 Strip for Dead Sea Nude Shoot

A group of 1,000 Israelis especially selected to take part in Spencer Tunick's first mass nude shoot at the Dead Sea, arrived by buses overnight at the famous landmark on Saturday. The chosen location was not revealed until the moment of arrival so as to prevent religious officials or curious bystanders from disturbing the photo shoot.

The group of Israelis, consisting of both men and women ages 18 to 77, gathered on the beach around 1 a.m., awaiting the photo session to begin with the sunrise. When the sun finally came up, Tunick instructed the 1,000 Israelis to enter the salty water, as he photographed them floating in the Dead Sea.

A second photograph was taken as participants were told to stand along the edge of one lagoon, while the third and final photo displayed the group covered in mud.

In the end, it was not the religious officials who tried to disrupt the photo shoot but in fact curious spectators, who were able to discover the secret location and attempted to get closer. Some even succeed to get a peek using light planes and parachutes.

Tunick told Israeli reports he had chosen to hold the photo shoot on Saturday so that no one would walk along the beach and see a naked person. The media, including journalists from all over the world, were stationed a considerable distance away from the naked group of Israelis, as the photo shoot began.

Tunick said last Wednesday he believes Israel is the only country in the Middle East with the religious freedom for one of his trademark mass shoots of nude volunteers. Despite his initial fears over such a project in Israel, he mentioned that he is not the first artist to deal with nudity in the country.

Tunick insisted that the Dead Sea shoot was not about challenging the region's delicate religious sensitivities or the turmoil and conflict associated with the Middle East. He said his aim is to deliver an environmental message highlighting the plight of the world's lowest and saltiest body of water, which is rapidly drying up. "Hopefully my work with this will be associated with the human-made natural disaster at hand, and not with war," he said.
